Cleared for surgery by the flight surgeon today. On my way to be a pilot!
Ran 3 today...1.5, PT, 1.5
Running, felt good. Back tight, from not running or stretching for awhile. Went kind of fast, considering. 20:38 for just under 3.
7:27, 6:17 (short), 6:53!
PT:
5x5 Pullups all variations
5x20 situps
20,15,10,5 Dips
Everything felt better than Sunday. Pullups were almost easy, situps were good, and dips felt nice.
Totals:
Pullups: 25
Situps: 100
Dips: 50

Happy Birthday Post!
What does it mean the flight surgeon cleared you for surgery? What kind of surgery?
How does the second half of your run feel after doing PT? Do you feel more energized and pepped up, or are you more tired?
word: difie
def: appear to be challenging (someone) to do or prove something: the irish spelling of defy.
sent: "I deifie gravity!"
-Irish Superman
Thanks!
PRK: Photoreactive Keretinectomy.
Laser surgery on the cornea and lens to improve sight. Thus, I can reapply to be a pilot.
The 2nd half feels good. I'm all pumped up, and the arms feel heavy, but that's it.
Aha! Glad to hear that the pullups are easy. They are fun things to do. Yes.
Nice blog. Found you via Ben.
I have a brother who is an Air Force pilot. My middle son wants to be but wears glasses (myopia). I told him I didn't think he could qualify, then he heard of some sort of surgery to remedy that. I guess that's what you had?
By the way, my brother's at Hickam AFB right now. Near you?
To Abby:
Awesome! Great flight family. Yes, there are a few procedures that can help. I'm having PRK. LASIK is the other popular one, but may not be accepted for pilots as it permanently weakens the eye.
If your son is really interested, have him meet with a flight surgeon. They know more about the qualifications, waivers, etc than anyone.
That's cool that your bro is here. Hickam borders Pearl, so we're practically neighbors! Have you had a chance to visit?
